A durable slab begins before the concrete arrives. Base support, geometry, reinforcement, cast-in items, joints, pour sequence and finish requirements must be coordinated.
Base and preparation
The base must provide the specified bearing capacity and consistent support. Check compaction, levels, service penetrations and insulation layers before reinforcement.
- ground and base compaction
- designed aggregate or other layers
- services and cast-in items
- thickness, falls and edge details
Reinforcement and placement
Reinforcement needs the specified cover and secure support. Formwork must withstand pressure, while the pour size must match crew and supply capacity.
- reinforcement to the design
- construction and movement joints
- concrete grade, consistency, pump and delivery interval
- vibration, levelling, finishing and curing
What to send
Provide drawings or dimensions, thickness, concrete grade, reinforcement details, site address and target date. BIMARKS can coordinate a complete package or work with client-supplied materials by agreement.
